Pay Grade: A03
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Under general supervision, performs park maintenance duties within their assigned work section.
*This position performs duties deemed to be “safety-sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies*
Essential Job Functions

Participates in the following assigned work sections:
- horticulture/forestry maintenance activities, including planting, weeding, watering, mulching, and tree maintenance/removals.
- Operates small power equipment including weed eater, chainsaw, blower, edger, auger, and power hand tools.
- Operates medium to large equipment including mower, tractor, dump truck, skid loader, paint machine, stump grinder, wood chipper, aerial truck and sprayer.
- Participates in custodial and litter removal duties.
- Performs routine irrigation operation and maintenance tasks.
- Oversees community service workers.
- Performs chemical applications as assigned.
- Assists with ice and snow removal duties.
- Assists with installation of warning devices at work sites.
- Participates with small concrete installations.
- Performs duties of the Crew Leader in their absence.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Maintains daily work records as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires an ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid class D driver's license issued by the state of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a pesticide applicator license issued by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.
Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert forceful physical effort in heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, and crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of heavy weight (up to 150 pounds).
