Primary responsibilities of our optical assistants

Welcome and prepare patients for examinations including gathering medical history and performing optical assessments
Assist patients in frame selection, ordering, fitting and repairs as needed
Perform and document repairs, calibration and testing of equipment
Manage purchasing of materials and inventory levels
Schedule and assist in outside specialist referrals
Maintain optical rooms per sterilization guidelines and set up rooms for patient visits
Execute administrative tasks that include tracking inventory, recording sales, submitting patient insurance information, bookkeeping, scheduling appointment and maintaining client records

Qualifications to join us as an optical assistant

High School Diploma or GED
On the job training offered, optical or healthcare experience is a plus
Ability to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow through.
Current CPR certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to partnering with all team members
