This preparation training program is designed to provide training to young adults with disabilities on employment skills, workplace readiness, general life skills, soft skills, and real world internship experience. Members will serve as Employment Specialists, implementing curriculum to teach skills within a small group of individuals with disabilities. Members will learn valuable skills related to vocational rehabilitation, teaching and facilitation, caregiving, self-determination, and disability services.
Member Duties : Understand and follow Mandy’s Farm VAMOS core beliefs; Implement daily curriculum incorporating creative facilitation styles, reflection, and transformation questioning; Educate, train and mentor service recipients; Promote conditions conducive to effective learning; Participate in individual specific discovery, goal creation, and development of vocational assessments; Attend trainings and meetings as required by supervisor; Participate in Ameri Corps Days of Service and other required trainings for Members; Maintain a professional boundary with the service recipients, refraining from the disclosure of personal information; Report all concerns regarding abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the Department of Health Improvement, Adult Protective Services or Child Protective Services as directed in your training. Provide service recipients transportation to and from off campus field trips.
