General Description
Performs work of routine difficulty applying knowledge in fingerprinting employees and applying policies and procedures from Virginia State Police/FBI, and state child protective services agencies. Tracks various data items both electronically and manually. Maintains personnel files for all non-contractual employees. Responds daily to individuals inside and outside of the organization.
Essential Job Functions

Schedules and fingerprints new CCPS employees utilizing Livescan fingerprinting and E-Verify.

Submits and receives data from the State Police/FBI and Child Protective Services for criminal background checks for employees and student teachers.

Retrieves fingerprint results, alerts supervisors and/or gives results to the administrator for action prior to work beginning.

Oversees the operation and maintenance of multiple fingerprinting stations throughout the division. Troubleshoots and trains as necessary. Coordinates with vendors on software updates.

Answers routine questions regarding employment policies and procedures. Screens visitors, phone calls and incoming mail.

Tracks Child Protective Services Forms, criminal history reports, tuberculosis tests, personnel documentation of TWA employees and other employment related forms. Reports issues and discrepancies to administrators.

Follows up with TWA employees and work sites for incomplete documentation and criminal background check issues.

Train employees on correct procedures for hiring TWA employees.

Assists in the Summer School Program in regards to personnel paperwork and background investigations. Requires travel to various locations for fingerprinting applicants.

Assists at job fairs as needed. Assist in prior preparation, set-up at site, and organization of materials. Fingerprints early contract candidates on-site.

Maintains up to date local, state and federal employment forms.

Performs miscellaneous duties i.e.; maintain notary public for departmental employees, order and maintain office supplies for various departments, processes work requests and new office software for computers and office machines, backup support for directors and personnel administrators as needed, etc.

Assists with Human Resources front desk coverage in the case of absences.

Notifies HR administrators and assistants about background results.

Tracks background appointments and results.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures, policies and school division programs. Working skill in operating personal computers. Demonstrated ability to maintain automated databases and provide routine reporting; edit work for proper grammar, spelling and punctuation; interpret and apply policies and procedures; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; exercise judgment and to work effectively with all levels of the organization and the public. Knowledge of records management.
Requirements
GED or High School Diploma. Skill and experience using Google Suite Software products.
Preferred: Experience with E-Verify. Experience in administrative support work in Human Resources strongly preferred.
An equivalent combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
