What you will be doing:
Under the general direction of the Human Resource Consultant 5, this position provides advice and assistance to managers and supervisors in the areas of personnel management, employee and labor relations issues directly and through the supervision of the work of the professional Human Resource Consultants assigned to the Employee Relations Unit.

In alignment with DOP's mission to provide direct human resource services to the Executive Branch, the Employee Relations Program is a centralized resource offering expertise and tools empowering State of Alaska employees to prevent and resolve personnel issues. This consultant position is overtime ineligible and may be located in Anchorage in the Division of Personnel offices in the Atwood Building or in Juneau in the State Office Building.

The Employee Relations Program offices are located either in the Atwood Building in Downtown Anchorage or the State Office Building located in Juneau. Both offices are secure spaces with open concept work spaces and great views. In Anchorage, you have a view of downtown, Turnagain Arm, and the Anchorage Bowl. From Juneau, you are able to see the Gastineau Channel.
