Summary:
Greets all patients and guests in a friendly, courteous manner. Provides assistance to our patients and guests entering or exiting the facility by providing directions and/or way finding and assistance with opening doors, providing wheelchairs or other assistance as necessary. This position is responsible for monitoring the driveways and entrances so they are clean, clear and free of debris. The position also provides valet and/or shuttle services for patients and guests as needed.
Essential Job Functions:

Proactively greets, offers and explains valet services and extends offer to park patient/guest vehicles both at the clinic and hospital buildings.

Proactively helps identify service needs within Altru Health System (i.e. cafeteria, restrooms, telephone, etc.) and outside of Altru Health System (i.e. convenient restaurants, hotels, shopping locations, and community attractions).

Coordinates closely with Greeters and other service areas within Altru Health System to maximize the ability to provide patient/guest assistance and services; works collaboratively with volunteers; ensures backup plans are in place at all public entrance areas to ensure consistent service expectations.

Assists patient/guests with wheelchairs and crutches into and out of the clinic or hospital, and offers transportation to their desired destination within the facility.

Transports on an as needed basis via shuttle and courtesy van utilizing safe and courteous driving techniques. Adhere to all Altru Health System policies and procedures relative to the use of the Altru owned and operated vehicles..

Accounts for inventory of facility wheelchairs, retrieves wheelchairs from various service areas to ensure adequate equipment is available at the front entry areas. Oversees the proper use and storage of equipment and ensures equipment is operationally safe.

Initiates log of parked vehicles gathering patient/guest name, make, model and license plate number and designated space number of the vehicle. Provides the patient/guest with an identification tag to assist in retrieving the vehicle. Ensures safekeeping of car keys. Reports stats to supervisor/manager.

Drives and parks the cars in the designated location ensuring all windows are up and all doors are locked. Consideration is given to special security of safety needs such as pets that may be in the vehicle.

Monitors entrances so that access remains unhindered, allowing for a reasonable time for loading and unloading. Maintains lobby and foyer areas to ensure they are clear of debris, so a clean and safe area are maintained.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
