Under supervision of the Biomed Manager and other senior technicians, the Biomed Technician I inspects, repairs, maintains, and calibrates a variety of basic clinical equipment, devices, system, and instruments. This position routinely interacts with other clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solution development.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs planned maintenance, safety tests, and calibrate medical equipment as directed utilizing specialized equipment. Performs incoming inspections, attaches and assigns control numbers and labels, and acquires the necessary information for accurate database inventory entries.
Maintains accurate and thorough documentation and record keeping in a timely manner. Opens and closes work orders accurately and within required time.
Reviews service requests and conveys course of action planned. Provide timely and accurate status reports to customers on a routine basis.
Troubleshoots and repairs a broad range of clinical equipment and system malfunctions.
Performs all tasks in strict adherence to the departmental Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP).
Assists in ordering parts and supplies.
Provides technical assistance and instruction to hospital staff on equipment operations and maintenance.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Education:
Required: High School - Related Field
Preferred: Associates - Biomedical Engineering- OR -Associates - Related Field
