Summary:
The Accounting Specialist II performs a variety of general accounting functions related to the development, maintenance, and support of Altru and Affiliates. This position will have various responsibilities that involve multiple functions such as accounts payable, payroll and treasury.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops and maintain cash and investment accounts for Altru and Affiliates. Prepares daily and monthly cash process, forecasting, settling and resolves cash issues in a timely manner.
Assists with the preparation of internal audits of cash management, accounts payable, and payroll as needed to verify proper reporting and process. Report to leadership all findings.
Initiates month-end close process for Altru and Affiliates. Reconciles general ledger accounts with subsidiary ledgers and reports monthly.
Audits and analyzes monthly transactions for compliance. Prepares reconciliations for accounts and verify correct reporting. Assists with billing process as required.
Prepares and processes payroll as needed and related quarterly and annual reports.
Prepares and processes invoices and accounts payable tasks as required. Assists with inquiries about payments and invoices from vendors, customers, and team members.
Prepares journal entries with supporting schedules, reviews interface transactions from subsidiary systems and makes adjustments as appropriate.
Identifies opportunities to enhance financial processes and streamline accounting policies and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Education:
Required: Bachelors - Accounting- OR -Bachelors - Finance

Preferred: A minimum of 2 years Related Experience
