Compensation: $37,980.80 annually; $18.26 Hourly
Salary may be dependent upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Employee will perform a variety of tasks to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud in all agency programs involving clients, contractors and staff members; will utilize a variety of methods when conducting investigations, to include face to face interviews, unannounced home visits, surveillance, as well as reviewing social media and various information databases. Employee will contact clients, employers, providers, public and private agencies, contractors, businesses, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies, to investigate allegations of fraud involving clients and contractors and to investigate allegations of possible criminal misconduct of agency employees and to conduct special investigations at the request of the Chief of Investigations or the General Counsel.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education – General: High School diploma or equivalent. Must have at least one year of experience investigating, fact finding or enforcing state or federal laws and regulations. Must maintain a valid driver’s license throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in field investigative work as a law enforcement officer, social worker, corrections/parole officer, special/private investigator, state or federal agency investigator, or insurance claims investigator. Ability to conduct effective interviews, gather information, apply analytical thinking and deductive reasoning to arrive at reasonable conclusions. Experience in determining eligibility for DCF Economic and Employment Service programs. Successful candidate must have strong interest in the detection and prevention of all types of fraud arising in all public assistance programs administered by DCF.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
  • Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
