Fiscal Management Specialist 2

THE POSITION
Are you interested in commonwealth employment with an agency whose mission is to engage, coordinate, and lead the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s effort to prevent and reduce drug, alcohol, and gambling addiction and abuse? The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) is seeking a Fiscal Management Specialist 2 to work in the Bureau of Quality Assurance and Administration, Division of Budget and Procurement. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 2, you will be responsible for the daily fiscal operations of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP). You will be tasked with processing contractual documents, budget revisions, set-aside exception requests, and fixed asset approval requests in accordance with DDAP procedures. Work includes processing invoices for payment as well as creating and maintaining contract invoice files to include the yearly update of budget amounts, document numbers, account codes, and increases/decreases to budget amounts as applicable. You will have the opportunity to record expenditure adjustments completed throughout the year, provide technical assistance to office staff, and back up other Fiscal Management Specialists as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum one day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 1; or
  • One year of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
