First Aid Attendant - First Aid One Facility
First Aid Attendants have the important role of providing basic first aid to guests who are injured while participating in mountain activities. A successful attendant must have an acute attention to detail, possess strong customer service skills, be able to communicate effectively, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment. This job takes place within the First Aid station, with occasional opportunities of responding to lower mountain calls using the snowmobile. Attendants must have strong deescalating skills, must be self-sufficient, and must have a passion for helping people.
Base Pay: Starts at $18/hr ($19 for EMT-B cert) depending on experience and qualifications

Required Certs or Licenses: Driver’s License, OEC or EMT-B or RN along with CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled

Typical Shift: Starts around 7am and ends around 5pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Provides basic first aid to injured/sick guests following policies and procedures established by the Resort, Medical Control Director, National Ski Patrol, and the New Mexico State Emergency Services Bureau
- Completes reports as necessary in an accurate, thorough manner
- Communicates with Summit Dispatch, ambulance, and responders via phone, radio, and in-person, following radio protocol at all times
- Enters Incident Reports into tracking software
- Consults with Patrol Director when protocol questions arise
- When necessary, locates next of kin for injured patients, arranges and helps determine transport needs
- Maintains adequately stocked medical supply locker and maintains inventory of medical supplies
- Ensures the cleanliness of the FA1 facility, including disinfecting surfaces, processing laundry, making beds, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms etc.
- Occasionally drives snowmobile to respond to lower mountain injuries (not required)
- Maintains training and commits to follow all confidentiality regulations and guidelines as set forth by HIPPA
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
