  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an administrative assistant or related experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with various software and productivity tools (MS Office, Adobe, Office Equipment)
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and complete work in a timely manner to meet established deadlines
  • Interact with, train and assist others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Works collaboratively and embraces team work

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or hours towards a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in a university academic department
  • Experience using Texas State systems, specifically but not limited to – SAP, Banner, Cats Web, Logi, Course Leaf
  • Experience with hiring and processing PCRs.
  • Knowledge of TXST university/academic policies and procedures.

Job Description
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking a skilled and motivated individual for an influential full-time staff position. This person will provide administrative and clerical support to faculty, staff, and students of the department. This position is in-person on the San Marcos campus.

Job Duties
  • Support Curriculum and Instruction faculty and staff by addressing program tasks and requests
  • Work closely with program coordinators to maintain up-to-date schedules and documentation for the schedule of classes
  • Serve as the travel assistant to complete requests, reimbursements, and expense reports in Concur for faculty and student travel.
  • Assist with purchasing of supplies, equipment, and processing special payments.
  • Collect and submit documents for hiring of students and faculty.
  • Answer department emails, address student concerns, enter override requests, assist with registration, and refer to other offices when necessary.
  • Support the department administrative office by greeting students, faculty and guests; routing phone calls; answering inquires and handling or delegating assignments as they occur to student workers.
  • Maintain equipment and supply inventories by ordering, stocking, and recording materials needed
  • Schedule, supervise, train, and evaluate student workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
