The City of Wasilla Human Resources Department is hiring an administrative assistant to help with a current on-going project. Our office has currently shifted to an online Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and we are looking for someone to come help scan employee documents and sort them in the new system among other related tasks.
This is a non-regular, temporary position that will not last more than six months. Daily schedule is flexible but must be within the Monday- Friday, 8am-5 pm timeframe.

Essential Duties
The responsibilities listed below are illustrative of the various types of duties that may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Handle incoming phone calls, and direct to appropriate staff or departments.
Receive and direct visitors to the appropriate person or office.
Prepare a variety of highly confidential and/or specialized reports and maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, and conversations.
Provide general office support, schedule appointments on calendar, compose and reply to emails.
Handle meeting preparation, filing, faxing, and scanning.
One year office experience working in a professional or public office.

Ability to effectively operate equipment including, but not limited to, computer hardware and software, copy machines, telephones, typewriters, and calculators. Knowledge of MS Office software, to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to effectively read printed documents and forms.
