Responsibilities
- Develop and refine functional safety concepts for autonomous driving systems
- Define safety goals, requirements, and specifications in accordance with ISO 26262 and other relevant standards
- Conduct safety analyses such as Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Perform safety verification and validation activities, including safety testing and analysis of test results
- Work closely with the development and product teams to execute the functional safety development cycle
- Supervise the system’s conformity to safety standards, assess and quantify the results, and create thorough status reports
Qualifications
- MS or Ph D degree in electronics, automotive electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in the automotive or autonomous driving industry
- Proven experience with ISO 26262 standard (part 6) and software development processes (e.g., ASPICE)
- Experience in safety analysis techniques such as FTA, FMEDA, DFMEA, and HARA
- Proficiency in C/C++ and coding standards like Autosar and MISRA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferences
- Experience with Linux-based environments and networking (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Experience with defect and change management tools such as JIRA
- Expertise in version control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of UML/Sys ML language
- Knowledge of Dev Ops concepts and related systems
