The Role - At GM environmental, we are geared towards developing creative solutions to complex environmental challenges. As an environmental engineer at Facility, you will have the opportunity to champion the air, waste and water compliance programs and be responsible for developing programs to reduce environmental risk. You will work cross functionally with diverse groups to create and implement best-in-class, sustainable solutions to improve environmental compliance and sustainability across the site. We are currently looking for hardworking individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to help make the facility a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.
What You’ll Do - - Ensure the sites comply with all applicable environmental regulations and GM guidelines. - Review the regulations & GM environmental management system requirements and determine site applicability & impact. - Perform internal compliance reviews with appropriate validation. - Assist in the preparation and review of site environmental reports generated from GMR2 & Reliance submitting on time. - Obtain technical and environmental regulatory training annually to maintain proficiency in the environmental area of assignment. - Lead & support the site facilities and operations teams. - Develop and maintain required regulatory plans in support of air, water, and waste management. (e.g. Spill Prevention Plans, Env. Calendar, Task Instrument Sheet, etc.) - Gather data, analyze, interpret, and prepare technical reports for site leadership. - Interface with other regional members and actively participate in regional meeting.
Responsible for developing/maintaining/supporting robust and consistent environmental stewardship program strategies in support of GM’s mission to deliver sustainable solutions that improve the communities in which we live and work.
Experienced in at least one of the main environmental programs (air permits and regulation, water permits and regulations, or waste regulations)
Engages with Domain Experts as necessary to ensure continual improvement and support new program/project implementation.
Key collaboration with plant management and employees, FAMs, regulatory agencies, internal and external community leaders and members, legal staff, GM and external audit services, utility service provides (WWTP & PH), Project Planning teams at sites & HQ, domain experts and chemical and resource management business partners.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) - - Experience in Automotive industry - Understanding & Knowledge on MFG Process - Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or higher - Environmental qualification : Certificate of Environmental Engineer (1st grade): Water & Air Pollution - Strong English communication skill - Strong ability to identify issues / opportunities and develop solutions / recommendations - Strong ability on MS Office tool - Open mind for new challenge - Cross-functionally minded, with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships
