Education, Qualifications and Experience: - Grade 12 or equivalent qualification - 6 months- 1 year experience -Working knowledge of hospital admission systems will be an advantage - English as first language - Working knowledge of HIMS or related hospital admission systems will be an advantage - Accurate handling of cash (ITC and criminal checks will be performed on shortlisted candidates) - Knowledge of hospital procedures - Operate a busy switchboard and excellent telephone etiquette - Computer proficiency - Experience in private hospital environment is an advantage - Knowledge of various medical aid processes Responsibilities: Recording of Admissions: - Carrying out accurate admission and receptionist duties for the hospital. - Performing general administration duties involved in the admission of patients. - Admitting patients onto Logbox. - Update the bed list daily to ensure that patient allocation is correctly reflected on the system. - Liaise with Funders to obtain authorization for hospitalization and procedure. - Ensure adherence to all rules and requirements of the medical aids. - Liaising with medical aid authorizations. Administrative duties: - Operating the switchboard. - To ensure that all documents for admissions are received and copied (Doctors note, ID , Medical Aid Card). - Ensure that the admission forms are on a daily basis for accuracy. - To print patient labels and admission forms for the wards on a daily basis. - Executing the filing barcoding system. - Be available to assist the public at large with queries. Handling of Payments: - Accurately document all cash receipts and deposits the cash in the Cash Vault as per Cash and Bank policy. - Ensure that all Co-Payments (Including short falls on prosthesis) and Private patients deposits are received prior to admission, Confidentiality: Comply with legislation related to POPI and PAIA to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
