Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at a prestigious Mediterranean restaurant in Muscat. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for Mediterranean cuisine, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to create exceptional dining experiences. The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, kitchen operations, team management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development: Design and curate an innovative Mediterranean menu that reflects seasonal ingredients and the restaurant's concept. Regularly update and refine the menu based on guest feedback and market trends.
Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish. Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and cost control.
Team Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen team to achieve high standards of culinary excellence. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging creativity and professional growth among staff.
Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste. Implement and monitor food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with local health regulations.
Cost Management: Manage food costs and inventory effectively, working closely with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients while optimizing expenses. Develop strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Guest Experience: Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and an exceptional dining experience for guests. Engage with guests when appropriate, to gain feedback and create memorable experiences.
Innovation: Stay current with culinary trends and continuously explore new techniques and ingredients to keep the restaurant's offerings fresh and exciting.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-end Mediterranean restaurant or similar setting.
In-depth knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine, including a variety of regional dishes and cooking techniques.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while maintaining composure.
A passion for culinary innovation and a commitment to delivering outstanding dining experiences.
Certification in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
