Job description: The Head of Commodities will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commodities strategy. This role involves overseeing all activities related to the set up, procurement, trading, and management of commodities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commodities, excellent leadership skills, and a robust network in the industry which includes but are not limited to: - Develop and implement a comprehensive commodities strategy aligned with the company’s overall objectives. - Oversee the set up, procurement, trading, and sale of commodities, ensuring profitable performance. - Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to inform strategic decisions. - Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, traders, and other key stakeholders in the industry. - Lead and manage the commodities team, fostering an environment that promotes collaboration and professional development. - Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies to mitigate market volatility. - Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards related to commodity trading and management. - Prepare and present regular reports on market analysis, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management. - Collaborate with other departments to support the company’s overall business goals. - Identify new opportunities for growth within the commodities market. Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; * Proven experience (7+ years) in start up commodities trading, procurement, or supply chain management. * Strong understanding of the commodities market dynamics, including pricing, trading practices, and regulations. * Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. * Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities. * Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
