We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a beauty retail company, for the position below: Job Title: Accountant Code: BMC/BH/AC/001 Location: Yaba, Nigeria Work Mode: Full Time; Onsite Work Hours: 8am- 5pm, 9am-6pm; Mondays- Fridays Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client company in the beauty retail industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial tasks including invoicing, banking, receivables follow-up, credit control, preparation of accounts, and budgeting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial principles and excellent organizational skills. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, budget management, and audit facilitation and also be able to ensure that stock record systems are up to date. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in retail and accounting principles. Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, reconciliations, and payments to suppliers.
Monitor and reconcile stock levels with financial records, ensuring accurate inventory accounting and valuation.
Assist in preparing the company’s annual budget, track expenditures, and prepare financial forecasts.
Oversee day-to-day cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs and managing working capital.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations.
Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and making recommendations for cost control and revenue improvement.
Maintain accurate financial data within accounting software and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance preferably in the retail industry or related field.
Professional accounting certification is a plus
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Familiarity with oil and gas industry financial practices and regulations
Proven track record of accurate financial reporting and analysis

Understanding of oil and gas industry-specific accounting treatments (e.g., joint interest billing, revenue accounting)

Experience with budgeting and forecasting in the oil and gas sector
Familiarity with risk management and compliance in financial operations
Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
Skill in developing and maintaining financial controls and procedures
Understanding of capital expenditure accounting and fixed asset management
General Conditions
Remuneration: N250,000-N280,000 monthly
13 Month salary.
