We are looking for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our 3 Waters Team. This position has a legislative job guarantee so is not affected by any changes to the 3 Waters programme.
About the role –
The role of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator includes maintenance of the treatment plant and ensures that the wastewater treatment facility is maintained and operational at all times. The role also assists with consent compliance monitoring, some administrative tasks and the supervision of suppliers and contractors while they are on-site.

About you -
We are seeking a strong team player who takes pride in their work to join the team. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate –
- Qualified Operator with either the Level 4 National Certificate in Waste Water Treatment or Level 5 NZ Diploma in Waste Water Treatment. (NB: we would be interested to receive applications from anyone at least 6 months into their Level 4 National Certificate in Waste Water Treatment)
- An aptitude towards mechanical maintenance, general labouring and maintenance duties
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong time management skills
- Health and safety at the forefront of everything you do
- A cool and collected manner when working under pressure
