Taitara Mahi– Accounts Receivable Officer

The Hastings District Council Finance team is committed to delivering exceptional financial services across all parts of Council. We have a supportive and diverse team of professionals to whom we offer the opportunity to take ownership of their roles and encourage working together to solve problems in the most effective way.
We are currently requiring an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team. As Accounts Receivable Officer, you’ll ensure our invoices are accurate, payments are on time, and queries are handled quickly.
We are looking for an individual who has proven experience working in accounts receivable, who also has a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You will have the ability to problem solve and have strong investigation skills.
The duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Creating invoices on a daily basis
- Dealing with debtor queries in a timely manner
- Reconciling Accounts, maintaining accurate records and data
- Strong relationship building and regular engagement with customers to arrange payment or to negotiate payment arrangements.
- Complete end of month duties as required.
- Monthly Reporting
You will be joining a supportive and diverse team where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your position and work closely with the wider finance operations team. You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to hit the ground running.
Ōu wheako – about you
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Either have a Diploma in Business/ Accounting principles or equivalent level of learning through experience.
- Have excellent written and spoken English
- Have experience in AR and a proven history of accuracy
- Personal resilience and confidence, calm under pressure and capable of managing high workloads, multi-tasking when necessary whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy
