Job Summary: The Admission Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, from initial inquiry to enrollment. This role involves providing information about the university's programs, advising applicants on admission requirements, and supporting them in making informed decisions about their education. Key Responsibilities:
Prospective Student Outreach:
Respond to inquiries from prospective students via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Provide detailed information about academic programs, admission requirements, and campus life.
Application Assistance:
Assist prospective students with the application process, including the completion of forms, submission of required documents, and preparation for interviews.
Review and assess applications to ensure they meet the university's admission criteria.
Campus Tours and Events:
Conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families.
Organize and participate in admission events, such as open houses, information sessions, and college fairs.
Advising and Counseling:
Advise students on program selection, career paths, and academic goals.
Provide support and guidance to help students make informed decisions about their education.
Relationship Building:
Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
Represent the university at external events and build a network of contacts to enhance student recruitment efforts.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and application statuses in the university’s CRM system.
Prepare reports on admission activities and trends for senior management.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
Collaborate with academic departments to stay updated on program offerings and changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Marketing, or a related field.
Previous experience in admissions, student recruitment, or a related area is preferred.
Strong understanding of the university admissions process and higher education landscape.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build rapport with prospective students and their families.
Proficiency in using CRM systems and other recruitment tools.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
