The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing specific categories or areas of procurement within the facility services department. This role involves developing strategic sourcing plans, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Category management: Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories, considering factors such as cost, quality, and market trends.
- Supplier selection and evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on predetermined criteria. Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships.
- Onboarding and Termination process: Manage transition, mobilization, and demobilization plans for suppliers, ensuring a smooth onboarding and offboarding process.
- Contract negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery, and service levels.
- Cost savings initiatives: Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities within assigned categories through analysis and negotiation.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and align sourcing activities accordingly.
- Market research: Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends, new suppliers, and emerging technologies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in procurement processes.
- Contract management: Monitor contract performance, manage contract renewals, and address any contract-related issues.
- Data analysis: Analyze data and metrics to measure procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the sourcing function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- Intermediate to advanced English and Spanish communication level.
- 2+ experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and cost management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement-related software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in sourcing is a plus.
