Assistant Marketing Manager

We are Parallel 49 Brewing Company, a craft brewery based in the heart of East Vancouver. We were founded in 2012 by passionate craft beer enthusiasts and have quickly become a staple in the Canadian craft beer scene. We are looking for skilled and interesting people with great attitudes to complement our team while we remain a top employer in Vancouver and the craft beer industry.
As our Assistant Marketing Manager (AMM), your love of craft beer will be the driving force behind Parallel 49 Brewing. Your passion for the industry will enable you to keep us top of mind with our fans, both online and in the real world. You'll work closely with our Sales & Marketing teams to create and launch fun, engaging programs and events that connect with our customers.
This is a full-time, permanent position.

What You’ll Do
Social Media & Website Management:
  • Work together with our team to craft social media strategies for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, X, Tik Tok, and our website.
  • Coordinate with our current social media contractors, leveraging user-generated content, and collaborate with illustrators to create cool, shareable content—whether it's graphics, videos, or written posts—that fits Parallel 49 Brewing's vibe.
  • Keep an eye on industry trends, what our competitors are up to, and ways to engage with our online communities.
  • Build and nurture our online communities, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries quickly and with a friendly touch.
Content Creation:
  • Dream up and create awesome content for all our digital channels, including promotional materials.
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots to make sure our content looks great and is ready to share.
  • Ensure all content matches our brand messaging and hits home with our target audience.
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with influencers, bloggers, and other key industry players.
Trade Marketing:
  • Roll out trade marketing programs that help us hit our sales goals and boost our brand’s presence in the market.
  • Work with our sales and marketing teams to ensure our trade marketing efforts align with our overall business goals.
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and what our competitors are doing to spot opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Events:
  • Plan and pull off events at our Street Kitchen Restaurant, festivals, and sponsored events, handling all the logistics, entertainment, and promotions.
  • Organize events with our accounts and stay engaged with the local community through community events, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Keep track of event performance to make future events even better.

What You’ll Need
  • At least 3 years of experience in beverage alcohol marketing/sales in Western Canada or 5 years in CPG marketing.
  • Proven experience managing social media, including using scheduling tools.
  • Experience leading event planning is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools like Adobe Suite and Canva is required, and video editing skills are a bonus.
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, is an asset. We’re also open to candidates with experience in the field.
