Full-Time Position (38 hours per week)
About the Role: As the WHS Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Barkly Regional Council provides a safe work environment. Your primary responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and maintaining effective Safety Management Systems, as well as promoting a positive safety culture among all staff. Minimum qualifications, or experience, of Certificate IV in Work Health Safety (WHS) and/or Tertiary qualification relevant to Occupational Health and Safety.
Experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and application of current WHS practices and relevant legislation such as, but not limited to:
Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011
Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Regulations 2011
Return to Work Act 1986 and Return to Work Regulations 1986
Highly developed interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders.
A current Manual (C Class) Driver’s Licence and have completed or are willing to undertake 4WD training.
A current National Criminal History Check. (within the last 3 months).
A current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).

Full-Time position paying at Level 8 Pay Point 1 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
Annual Salary of $87,014.91 ($3,346.73 gross per fortnight).
Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
11.5% Superannuation.
Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
