We are committed to innovation, excellence, and providing a supportive work environment for our team. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Officer / Chemistry Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysis of waters, wastewaters, trade wastewaters and environmental constituents, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
Sampling: Sampling of waters, wastewaters, trade wastewaters and environmental constituents.
Sample Preparation: Prepare and handle samples for analysis, ensuring they are properly labelled and stored to maintain their integrity.
Chemical Analysis: Perform routine and specialized analysis of waters, wastewaters, trade wastewaters and environmental constituents using various analytical techniques and equipment.
Data Recording: Accurately record and document test results, observations, and experimental conditions into approved worksheets and electronic systems.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, in-house calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Quality Control: Conduct quality control tests and participate in proficiency testing to ensure the accuracy and consistency of laboratory results.
Method Development: Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures to improve laboratory efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
Diploma or Higher Degree in Science or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention on records keeping and documentations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Australian Driving licence
