The Public Health Team Coordinator coordinates the daily activities of the Public Health program community-based staff in Ramingining and provides on-the-ground support and mentoring for Yolngu staff employed across a range of outreach programs. This role is full time fixed-term ending 30 June 2025, based in Darwin or Nhulunbuy with regular outreach travel required to Ramingining NT.

Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. Essential Requirements
The Public Health Team Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating daily activities of community-based staff through daily team meetings, ensuring community workers are supported to carry out activities in line with their program work plans, communicate any issues to program managers and work collaboratively to resolve. Candidates must have post-secondary qualifications in a relevant discipline or significant experience in training and development of Aboriginal staff and will also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings. Willingness to travel FIFO to an East Arnhem community is one of the minimum requirements. Please see attached Job Description to view the full information.
