What you’ll do
As a Project Officer you will support the Indigenous Rangers Biosecurity Program in the Science and Surveillance Group (SSG) by undertaking financial and administrative functions.

You’ll work under limited direction to perform:
  • finance functions including paying invoices and supporting the preparation and monitoring of contracts with Indigenous organisations,
  • ongoing management of grant agreements and contracts including liaising with Indigenous organisations, complying with relevant legislation and policy, reviewing reports and tracking progress,
  • assisting in the design, selection and agreement making phases of grant round management,
  • assisting with procurement initiatives and other projects from time to time,
  • preparing high quality, timely and accurate correspondence, briefings and other reports,
  • maintaining and monitoring databases and spreadsheets,
  • liaising with Indigenous organisations,
  • providing general administration support as directed.

The Indigenous Rangers and Business Management Unit engages Indigenous Ranger on a fee for service basis to undertake biosecurity surveillance activities, whilst building biosecurity capability and providing economic opportunities for First Nations communities across northern Australia. You will play a pivotal role in achieving these outcomes, through assisting with the management of contracts and grants with First Nations organisations.

Please note that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
