Overview:
- Responsible for coordinating, executing and reviewing programs and projects which support the effective administration of food legislation and standards throughout the State.
- Reviews food legislation and develops and implements sound programs, plans, protocols and tools for the implementation, monitoring of compliance, and enforcement of requirements.
- Reviews documents and addresses complex food incidents, complaints and enquiries and provides sound advice to food safety regulators and other stakeholders.
- Investigates, assesses and reports on matters in relation to food legislation, programs, food safety, and composition and labelling, and participates in programs that ensure the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment.

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
- A relevant science degree, such as, microbiology, food science, food technology or environmental health.
- A driver’s licence (car class) is essential.
- Intra/interstate work, including overnight stays, may be required.
- Out of hours work will be required via a rotating weekend on-call roster. Other out of hours work may be required.
