Primary objective

Provide advice, research, and project leadership in the design and delivery of infrastructure and procurement projects, ensuring a whole of

system approach to outcomes and connecting key parties to unify effort. Provide oversight and advice on key infrastructure requirements

and services.

Context statement

This position requires sound project and program management experience and the ability to foster relationships between Infrastructure

Planning and Development and service providers.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Lead and deliver the provision of strategic agency infrastructure needs and planning for the agency, ensuring efficient integration with

agency-wide priorities.

2. Provide high-level advice, support and reporting on infrastructure projects and programs.

3. Respond positively to change with a commitment to ongoing improvement and professional development.

4. Develop and maintain networks and positive relationships with government and non-government stakeholders, to promote integrated

program and project delivery responses.

5. Support the strategic direction of operational services, particularly relating to infrastructure and asset requirements, including the

agency’s infrastructure plan and other documents to support operational outcomes.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated ability to think laterally and conceptually in the context of project design and implementation, including analysis of

complex and connected information.

2. Demonstrated sound knowledge and skills in providing oversight of and advice on infrastructure-related strategies, or similar

transferrable experience that could align with agency reform.

3. Proven skills in contemporary management, including projects, programs and change management.

4. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to develop and maintain effective professional

relationships and partnerships across all levels of government, with service providers and the community, including people from

diverse cultural backgrounds.

5. Proven well-developed written and oral communication skills, including high-level development of government documentation.

6. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.

Desirable

1. Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure services, particularly integrated information technology and audio-visual

requirements relating to agency infrastructure projects.

2. Sound knowledge of current infrastructure program management methodologies across government, including challenges in

delivering infrastructure to remote locations.
