Primary objective
Responsible to the Officer in Charge for the general upkeep and cleanliness of Nhulunbuy Police Station, visiting officer ’ s
quarters (VOQ s ), police cells, ground maintenance and the cleaning and refuelling of vehicles.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Cleaning and refuelling of vehicles.
2. General upkeep of police grounds and VOQs including, mowing, weeding and watering.
3. Internal cleaning of the Nhulunbuy Police Station.
4. Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of cells and VOQs.
5. Laundry services.
6. Conveyance of passengers to and from airport.
7. Freight collection.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current manual Northern Territory Driver’s Licence or the ability to obtain.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and members of the public.
3. Ability to operate with minimum supervision and prioritise workloads.
4. Experience in grounds maintenance.
5. Experience in cleaning and laundering.
6. Ability to work as a team member.
7. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
8. Knowledge of the principles of Equity and Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.
Desirable
1. Knowledge and/or significant experience in the carpentry or building field.
2. Current First Aid Certificate.
