The Role The General Manager - Communications is responsible for developing and implementing HIA’s communications and marketing strategies. This role promotes the organisation’s brand, enhances its reputation, and effectively communicates its message to a variety of audiences. This role manages HIA’s marketing and communications initiatives, from ideation, creation to curation, and delivers communications across owned and earned channels, increasing general awareness of HIA and positioning the Association positively with key stakeholders, to achieve agreed targeted outcomes. Key responsibilities for this role include:
Lead the design and implementation of communication strategies that support and extend HIA’s marketing initiatives, both short and long-term, aligned to HIA’s strategic agenda and annual operating plans.
Develop integrated marketing plans for HIA brand, business and policy units, aligned to annual targets.
Guide the team to establish fit for purpose standards, processes, and practices for managing the marketing and communication lifecycle, ensuring all items are consistent with brand, style, quality, tone of voice, and optimised for the various user experiences and across all channels.
Guide the research of industry trends, market insights and competitor analysis to inform communication strategy, content development and identify opportunities.
Collaborate with designers, videographers and other stakeholders to oversee the creation of visually appealing and multimedia-rich assets, that achieve targeted outcomes.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics, such as engagement rates and conversions to achieve agreed targets, and make data-driven recommendations.
The ideal applicant will have the qualities of:
Previous experience in successfully leading and managing a communications and marketing team is essential;
Extensive experience in producing and publishing digital, print, social and video content
Degree in Communications or other relevant field.
A creative thinker with a highly collaborative and operational style of management, working actively as part of the team;
