Primary objective

Provision of aluminium and steel fabrication and welding services for the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency

Services (NTPFES).

Context statement

The applicant will have current experience in the fabrication of vehicle modules and accessories with aluminium and steel

sheet to a high standard using MIG and TIG and generic machine shop tooling.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide high quality welding and fabrication services to NTPFES Fleet vehicles and equipment.

2. Maintain accurate workshop documentation input into the NTPFES Fleet System by detailing all maintenance work.

3. Design and construction of specialist fabrication projects.

4. Other tasks as directed by Workshop Manager.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. A trade certificate as a Boilermaker or Sheet Metal Fabricator or equivalent qualifications.

2. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings to professionally produce the desired requirement.

3. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.

4. A strong knowledge of and a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety.

Desirable

1. Forklift license.
