The Opportunity
Partnered with our host Diebert Steel, we are currently seeking an Apprentice Fabricator to join our team. Diebert Steel provides custom-fabricated solutions, focusing on delivering the highest expression of form, functionality and value.
Specialising solely in Architectural Fabrication, they offer complete customisation to bring any vision to life. Their capabilities include fabricating feature stairs, balustrades, gates, furniture, structural steel, specialty items and more.
As a proudly Australian-owned and operated company, they specialise in perforated metal, treadplate, handrails, gantries and expanded metal products.
The role will be based in West Gosford, NSW
Job Details
Working under the guidance of your supervisor, your duties will include:
- Learning the intricacies of cutting, grinding, welding and bending steel in an engineering workshop
- Performing light fabrication work
- Working with perforated sheeting and a variety of metals, including aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel
- Using a range of machinery, hand tools and power tools
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Performing general workshop duties
By undertaking this four-year apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to become a qualified Fabricator and earn your MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade.

About You
- A flair for welding and metalwork or enjoy hands on building and creating projects
- Be looking for a practical role, that is full of interesting challenges and variety
- Have completed a minimum of year 10 with a good understanding of maths as you’ll be reviewing and working to drawings
- Have excellent listening skills, be able to follow instructions and keen to develop new skills
- Have a positive, committed attitude and good communication skills
- Be punctual, reliable and enthusiastic about the fabrication trade
- Be safety conscious and always follow the PPE guidelines
- Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol Screen and Police Check
