Primary objective
Provision of assisting maintenance services to the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services light vehicle/marine fleet under
the direction of a qualified tradesmen.
Context statement
The successful applicant will have current experience in assisting tradesmen with vehicle maintenance in a large mixed fleet
of service vehicles.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Conduct supervised activities assisting tradesmen on NTPFES light vehicles, trailers, and marine equipment.
2. Application and removal of emergency services vehicle decals in preparation for the vehicle to enter service or disposal.
3. Conduct commissioning and decommissioning activities on agency fleet assets.
4. Other tasks as directed by the Workshop Manager or Workshop Foreman.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current experience as a tradesman’s assistant in a vehicle related field.
2. Ability to take technical direction on a repair task.
3. A current NT driver’s license with manual endorsement.
4. Understanding of the principles of Work Health and Safety.
Desirable
1. A current forklift license.
