As the Case Manager you will: - Conduct case conferences for matters that are subject to Sexual Violence Case Management in the Brisbane District Court to settle agreed facts and narrow issues in dispute prior to trial with a view to reducing the length and complexity of proceedings and assisting trial readiness.- Assist parties to agree on directions about the conduct of proceedings and their timely resolution, and develop practical trial plans for those which do not resolve.- Monitor and redirect compliance with directions and trial plans.- Ensure that proceedings which are ready for trial are given trial dates.- Identify and provide authoritative legal advice to the Director, Sexual Violence Case Reform, on changes in legislation, case law and policy issues that affect the jurisdiction and operations of the Sexual Violence Case Management pilot and the District Court.- Prepare timely advice, reports, correspondence and briefing notes on legal issues affecting the case management of criminal proceedings subject to sexual violence case management before the District Court.- Exercise delegated and legislative based powers to facilitate the progress of cases.- Manage and support data collection activities in relation to case conferencing to inform evaluation activities.- Collaborate with members of the Sexual Violence Case Management pilot and participate in relevant governance groups to achieve the intended objectives of the pilot.
