Salary: $67,591 - $73,081per annum
Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94 p/a
Professional development incentive: Allowance of $1,500 p/a
Employment Type: Full Time - 6month Fixed Term Position, with opportunity to extend
Reports to: Administration Manager
Employment conditions: Per AHAC Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2025

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation
(AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of four different sections (Health Services, Business Services, Public Health Unit and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical and emotional health and wellbeing is given the utmost priority.

mission is to be a provider of high quality holistic primary health care services featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

About the Role

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a full time Administration Support Officer to join their Parlpuru Ninji Kari – Health Services Section here in Tennant Creek. This role is offered on a Full-Time basis.


This position predominately works in the Health Centre, providing culturally appropriate and efficient services to all clients.

This position works closely with the Administration Manager in ensuring continuous improvement in the areas of administration and client services.


More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):



Duties
- General Administrative

  • Undertake administrative duties as directed in accordance with Health Centre services and organisational expectations
  • Provide temporary/short term support to the Medicare, Patient Travel, and Specialist Clinic Officer positions at the direction of the Executive Manager Health Services Section.
  • Uphold the vision, mission and priorities of the organisation as determined by the Board of Directors and outlined in its Strategic Plan.
  • Actively contribute to a professional and culturally safe work environment.
  • Adhere to Anyinginyi Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes, including work health and safety, to ensure programs and services meet professional and industry standards.
  • All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19.
About you


To be successful in this role, you must be of maintain respect for Traditional Aboriginal Culture and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Experience or qualifications in office management, ensuring continuous improvement in the areas of administration and client services and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.



Please note:
An Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s card) obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.



You will also need to possess the following:



Essential skills and experience
:

  • Respect for traditional Aboriginal Culture and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
  • Be responsive to the needs of individual clients.
  • Experience and/or qualifications in office management and work.
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel, internet and email.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety, as it relates to the workplace.
  • Be in possession of or have ability to obtain OCHRE Card.
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and be in possession of a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to up-skill.
  • Current NT Drivers license.
  • All Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation employees must be Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 With a minimum of 3 COVID-19 vaccinations.
