Technical Writer
Actalent Services is seeking a Technical Writer for a manufacturing company in the Portland area. This is a long term consultant position with access to benefits, PTO, and more!
Job Description:
The Technical Writer will create and update work instructions and SOPs in partnership with engineering teams. They'll play a significant role in a digitization and enhancement project by moving physical documents into digital formats while improving and optimizing through connection to additional digital information. This role will also support engineering teams with change orders and ensure documentation packages are updated as necessary.

Job Description:
The Technical Writer will create and update work instructions and SOPs in partnership with engineering teams. They'll play a significant role in a digitization and enhancement project by moving physical documents into digital formats while improving and optimizing through connection to additional digital information. This role will also support engineering teams with change orders and ensure documentation packages are updated as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Use Frame Work software to create and update work instructions and SOPs per aerospace standards/guidelines (S1000D, ATA i Spec2200, ASD-STE100)
- Create and revise: component manuals, vendor manuals, repair manuals, service bulletins, etc.
- Create digital versions of existing documentation
- Work with engineering teams to process change orders to ensure technical documentation is updated and accurate
Must have:
- Experience creating and updating work instructions, SOPs and other technical documents
- Experience writing/authoring using tools like: Arbor Text, Frame Maker, Iso Draw, Tech Illustrator, etc.
- Aerospace experience preferred
- Knowledge of electrical systems highly preferred
- Knowledge in ATA i Spec 2200, S100D and ASD-STE100 Standards
