Job Summary:
The Team Leader - Detail is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials by inspecting them to meet company standards and preparing them for further processing. This role involves marking materials for the band saw operator, maintaining detailed inspection records, and contributing to process improvements. This position plays a key role in maintaining product integrity and precision in the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Inspection:
  • Inspect incoming and in-process materials to verify they meet company quality standards.
  • Utilize measurement tools and equipment to check dimensions, tolerances, and other quality criteria.
  • Identify, document, and report any defects or non-conformities found during inspections.
Marking and Preparation:
  • Accurately mark materials according to specific guidelines and specifications for detailed work by the band saw operator.
  • Communicate with the band saw operator to ensure a clear understanding of required cuts and details.
  • Prepare detailed notes and diagrams as needed to assist the band saw operation.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inspection results, including defects and corrective actions taken.
  • Report significant quality issues to management promptly and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
Process Improvement:
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of inspection processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide feedback on common defects and areas for improvement to the production team.
  • Participate in quality control meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices and company standards.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during inspections and material handling.
  • Ensure that all materials handled comply with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred).
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a quality inspection role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools, equipment, and techniques used in quality inspection.
  • Experience with band saw operations or similar equipment is advantageous.
Skills:
· Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and guide others
· Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Good problem-solving abilities and the capacity to identify and address quality issues.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
· Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Work Environment:
  • Full-time position in a manufacturing environment.
  • May require standing for extended periods and handling materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
