General Description
Provide year-round research assistance for the Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment Office.
Essential Job Duties
1. Assist Director and Research Analyst in maintaining and updating web based IRPA data and survey reports; this will involve knowing or learning in short order the basic functions of Microsoft’s Power BI software.
2. Assist Director and Research Analyst in administering student surveys using a variety of approaches; including but not limited to “tabling” in key areas around campus during critical survey administration points in time.
3. Compile survey and other administrative data for reporting and analytical purposes.
4. Be the IRPA liaison to the UM’s SGA and other student groups on campus.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
1. Must be detail oriented.
2. Adhere to strict ethical and legal requirements concerning confidentiality and information protection.
3. Ability (or genuine desire to learn how) to work with quantitative and qualitative institutional research data
4. Ability to use (or willingness and ability to learn) Microsoft office programs, like Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power BI; and general online survey tools.
3. Ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a positive and effective way.
6. Available to work year-round.
