Overview:
The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources is seeking qualified individuals to provide various administrative services.
Responsibilities:
- Implement best practices for the efficient review and processing of Front Office paper and assist in identifying gaps and maintaining quality control.
- Work in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment and provide support and assistance to other team members as necessary, with focused attention on large increase in Ukraine statements, papers, memos, meetings, and points due to Russia’s aims of collapsing Ukraine’s energy grid.
- Assist in staff assistant efforts to triage workflow with a particular emphasis on developing judgment in prioritizing Ukraine centric materials relative to other Bureau priorities such as energy transition and clean energy supply chains.
- Develop procedures to normalize the surge in Ukraine related information streams so that Front Office principals receive information on time and in a digestible manner.
- Prioritize and task all incoming Ukraine papers and projects, with minimal miscommunication and as soon as feasible after receipt.
- For the Bureau’s role in leading the G7+ coordination effort to support Ukraine’s grid resiliency, initiate, track, and compile taskings related to the effort.
- Present data and information regarding Ukraine’s grid resiliency in graphic form and in a way that can be shared with international partners.
- Maintain and update various tracking files; request bureaus’ clearance of memoranda for senior State Department officials and troubleshoot specific concerns.
- Other administrative duties as needed to support ENR operations.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and push forward several simultaneous lines of effort.
- Excellent writing skills. Ability to take notes and produce concise, timely readouts and memoranda. Ability to format and edit others' writing to bring it in line with Department style guides.
- The ability to craft guidance and messaging geared at internal and external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate large events with numerous agenda items and programs.
- Knowledge of the organizational structure of the State Department preferred, but not required.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- This position will require a Secret Clearance.
