Specialty Clinic Scheduler – FT

Specialty Clinic Scheduler
Under the general supervision of Specialty Clinic Manger, the Clinic Scheduler is responsible for all activities surrounding appointments for specialty clinic patients and assisting with chart review/auditing.
Essential Functions

Has initial contact with the patient and is responsible for providing comprehensive, coordinated and seamless service to the patients.
Returns phone messages to patients within 24 hours.
Sends patient questionnaires to patients for appointments.
Schedules appointments for specialty clinic, and respiratory care
Validates the status of insurance. Obtains prior authorizations for appointments and procedures as required.
Makes appropriate referrals to assist the uninsured population.
Provides reminder calls, text messages and cards to patients.
Collaborates with providers, office managers and specialty clinic manager for schedule needs.
Communicates specialty clinic schedule to home offices.
Maintains overall understanding of specialty clinic functions and escorts patients and public to the proper destination.
Conducts themselves so as to provide the best Patient experience possible.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

High School Graduate or GED required.
Mandatory Report Training or completed on first day.
Computer skills required.
Insurance knowledge is preferred.
Healthcare background preferred.
Exceptional customer service skills required.
