The Snowsports School Instructor is responsible for creating an atmosphere that is positive, fun, and a safe learning environment for varying age groups and skill levels. This person delivers a comprehensive range of lessons and education programs in ski and/or snowboard instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Implementing lesson plans, and activities that are appropriate to the age group involved.
Delivering group and individual instruction and training.
Knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods, such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, and workshops.
Maintains a safe atmosphere for customers, always following all safety procedures.
Assist in analyzing and assessing students to determine developmental needs to improve students’ skill level.
Able to talk about and sell future lessons, to build customer relationships.
Set up and take down of learning area and props.
Administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
Attend all department and safety meetings.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Conducts and shows a high level of professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must be 16 years of age or older and have an approved work permit if under 18 years of age,18+ preferred.
Must pass a pre-employment background check. If under the age of 18, two reference letters are required in place of the background check
Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations including weekend, holiday, and evening hours.
PSIA or AASI Certified Level 1 or higher membership encouraged.
Must be able to ski/snowboard all runs and terrain.
At least two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Comprehensive knowledge of training plan, curriculum, and safety needs.
Strong Teaching and facilitation skills.
Ability to assess student needs and build an appropriate lesson plan.
Ability to work well with others and provide excellent customer service.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of students.
