Makes snow in accordance with policies and safety procedures outlined in Snowmaking Training manual in order to produce a base of snow on all runs of ski hill, to cover high wear areas and to enhance terrain to enable it to be skied/snowboarded safely. This position is a 12-hour shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Assist as needed with regular snowmaking operations on all assigned trails and slopes, including set-up and starting of guns, checking guns, monitor quality and quantity of snow.
Assist in moving guns to different locations to insure proper coverage.
Making necessary valve adjustments according to needs of a specific area.
Prepping trails and slopes for safe operation of system.
Operates hand or power tools in the general upkeep and maintenance of equipment essential in the production of snow.
Connects hoses and electrical cords at designated points on hill for the operation of the snowguns.
Moves, digs out and thaw guns as needed to remain operative efficiently.
Ability to learn and operate machinery in a safer fashion.
Roll hoses and “dry out” equipment.
Understand the mechanics and physics of snowmaking.
Works in a safe manner, being aware of surroundings at all times.
Assist supervisor with unusual problems, notify mountain management of any problems or conditions that require special attention.

Education and/or Experience
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Basic Math.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver's license.
