POSITION SUMMARY
Provides direct assistance to Program Manager in preparation and processing of traditional food in accordance with best practices and regulations as well as ensuring proper storage for safety and security of food. Position is part time/seasonal.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Takes direction from Program Manager on daily activities that may include preparation, processing, and packaging of various traditional foods (ie seal, moose, caribou meat, salmon, sheefish, berries, etc.)
2. Delivering identified traditional foods to Long Term Care facility on as needed basis
3. Assist in gathering of traditional foods, as applicable
4. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift and safely handle items of up to 70lbs. Ability to take verbal direction, and work independently under guidance of Program Manager. Must be willing and able to travel frequently, sometimes by boat or snow-machine, while conducting gathering of traditional foods. Must have valid Alaska Driver’s license with a good enough driving record to be covered by Maniilaq’s insurance.
