Description
Under general supervision, The Office Assistant for Workforce Development shall be responsible to the Vice President for Workforce Development and supervised by the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Workforce Development. The duties and responsibilities of the Office Assistant for Workforce Development shall be, but are not limited to the following:
- First and foremost, be at the front kiosk as receptionist, answer telephone and wait on customers in a courteous and helpful manner and be of service to the public with a positive attitude;
- Work with department personnel (division wide) to prepare and submit documents related to the people, programs, course enrollment, special activities and events of the department;
- Assist department staff with filing, copying, data entry, or other activities to assist them with effectively accomplishing assignments;
- Assist the Transportation Safety, Continuing Education, Oil and Gas Technology, Automation & Industrial Systems, and Workforce departments with enrollment, collecting payments, calling students, and other tasks as needed;
- Assist with class and course creation, as well as class cancelation on Lumens for Continuing Education, Oil and Gas Technology, Automation & Industrial Systems, and Workforce departments
- Deliver, pick up, and distribute mail to all departments under the Workforce Development division
- Run errands on campus
- Assist Coordinator of Facility Scheduling as needed; with indoor and outdoor signage, event and equipment set up.
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the division, departments, the college community and the communities within the college service area
- Assists with setups for training and campus events
- Participate in a process of continual personal and professional improvement;
- Actively participate in the institutional goals and objectives designed to support the mission of the college; and,
- Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the standard of New Mexico Junior College.
Qualifications
Knowledge of office practice, procedures and office equipment required.
Ability to work effectively with the public and staff required.
Proficient computer skills. Ability to provide top-notch customer service required.
Proficient in Microsoft
Good communication skills required.
Bilingual preferred.
