The Manager Finance Corporate is responsible for the financial oversight and management of an assigned entity or system-wide process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This role collaborates with local leadership teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to strategic planning initiatives. The Manager partners with the department leader and operational leaders to analyze financial performance, prepare budgets, and provide insight into financial opportunities. Additionally, the Manager supports long-term strategic initiatives and compliance efforts, serving as a liaison for financial operations to assigned hospitals or enterprise entities.
- Provides leadership for the financial assessment, budgeting, planning, and management of the hospital or assigned service area. Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of financial programs and projects in collaboration with the assigned department leader.
- Participates in the development and execution of long-term financial strategies. Works closely with system executives, clinical, and operational leaders to ensure alignment of financial operations with strategic initiatives and system and local facility goals.
- Selects, coaches, and develops key department caregivers. Manages the workforce effectively, ensuring education, training, and mentoring for department staff to facilitate high performance and continuous improvement.
- Leads the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. Monitors progress toward financial goals and initiates corrective actions as needed to ensure KPIs and metric targets are met.
- Collaborates with facility leaders to define financial goals and provides strategic input on key initiatives. Supports the execution of system-wide financial initiatives, ensuring alignment with both local and organizational objectives.
- Oversees the preparation and analysis of financial performance related to volumes, revenues, and expenses. Provides actionable insights and communicates financial opportunities to facility and system leadership.
- Identifies budget variances, determines appropriate corrective actions, and monitors plans to ensure budget compliance. Works closely with leadership to develop and execute strategies to address financial challenges and improve performance.
- Assists the assigned department leader in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accrediting body standards. Proactively identifies regulatory risks and contributes to the development of corrective actions.
- Participates in decision-making processes within the organization, representing financial perspectives. May prepare financial reports and executive summaries on the financial impact of key programs and initiatives for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Supports the assigned department leader in developing and managing long-term capital planning and investment strategies. Assists in the development of capital acquisition plans to ensure alignment with financial goals and sustainability.
- Continuously scans internal and external environments for emerging risks or opportunities that may impact financial performance. Provides input on proactive responses to potential changes in the regulatory or political landscape.
- Acts as a liaison between financial operations and clinical, financial, and operational departments. Participates in committees as assigned by senior leadership, providing a financial perspective in discussions and decision-making processes.
- Leads department initiatives for problem identification and resolution through process improvement teams. Actively participates in leadership development programs and succession planning to prepare for potential advancement to a Director of Finance role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related business field required.
- At least 7 years of experience (or 5 years with an MBA) in a related role demonstrating progressive growth in responsibilities and leadership
- Direct supervisory experience
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and internet-based tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA Certification
- HFMA Certification
- Advanced personal computer skills, Power BI, SQL, and Smart View
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Experience with revenue cycle management or healthcare reimbursement methodologies
- Experience in cost accounting, particularly in healthcare settings
- Master’s Degree in a related field
