Each office works collaboratively with external partners and the community to create a public health system that supports the health of Detroiters across their lifespan.This is a Temporary Administrative Special Services (TASS I) position.This Appointment Term is based on the availability of grant funds.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
MEDICAL ASSISTANTGreet and register patients, ensuring accurate collection of personal and medical information for effective service delivery.Prepare clients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and gathering necessary medical history.Measure and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) to assist healthcare providers in patient assessment.Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.Provide information on health maintenance and wellness, addressing any questions or concerns to enhance patient understanding and compliance.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY: Medical Assistants: Clinical Skills: Proficiency in performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and assisting with examinations.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction and documentation.Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical office software.Candidates considered for placement in this classification may be subject to a Criminal Background Investigation based on the requirements of the position.This is a Temporary Administrative Special Services (TASS I) position.This Appointment Term is based on the availability of grant funds.
