The Detroit Health Department has been providing important public health services to Detroiters for over 100 years.
The Health Department has three major offices: Population Health, Clinical Services and Outreach, and Administration and Organizational Development. Each office works collaboratively with external partners and the community to create a public health system that supports the health of Detroiters across their lifespan.
This is a Temporary Administrative Special Services (TASS I) position.
This Appointment Term is based on the availability of grant funds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
Medical Assistants:

Clinical Skills: Proficiency in performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and assisting with examinations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction and documentation.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical office software.
Candidates considered for placement in this classification may be subject to a Criminal Background Investigation based on the requirements of the position.
