The Locksmith, under general supervision, performs master/journey level work in the installation, repair, remodel, and maintenance of manual and automated locks, locking systems, and security devices; computerized access control systems; door openers, closers, and hardware. Preferred: Knowledge of Keystone Web and Best Access Systems.
Anticipated salary may be up to the mid-point of the posted salary range depending on candidate's experience and internal equity.
- Participates in emergency on-call services.
- The primary duties of this class are performed in a construction/maintenance environment within a city facility/park. The ability to endure prolonged exposure to arid desert conditions i.e. prolonged sun and heat exposure with knowledge of proper hydration methods.
- Work performed in various maintenance settings and field situations.
- Work sometimes involves bending and stooping repeatedly, lifting arms above head, and moderate muscular exertion and lifting.
- Make precise measurements and estimates.
- Exposure to dust, pollen, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant odors.
- Visual and muscular dexterity to operate: equipment, hand tools, computer, and telephone.
- Skillfully maneuver small objects.
- Move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sit for extended periods of time while driving a City vehicle or equipment maintaining constant vigilance to the surrounding area.
- Operate a motor vehicle and travel to/from various locations.
